Who We Are

Arise Academy I Te Puna Whakatika invokes conversation about the gathering of and sharing of knowledge that is centred on the person.  It could be seen as a spring of knowledge that keeps renewing and overflowing thus enabling or spreading out into the various forums that we as contributors participate in and draw from, therefore, allowing us to make meaningful contributions into the future.

The Arise Academy story began with the work of its founder Jagriti Foundation.

Jagriti Foundation CC55188 is a Charitable Trust and Arise Academy has charitable status CC58793. Together they embrace the purpose of aroha and care, and foster ways to support the wairua – wellbeing and education of people.

Jagriti Foundation was established in 2017 to support women in their personal healing journeys. The mahi of Jagriti Foundation supports individuals with personal and varying needs that require individual support and wraparound services if long-lasting freedom from abuse, addiction and life changes is to be successful. This includes Jagriti House, a safe, supportive and private residential home and services for the wellbeing recovery of women. The recent addition of Arise Academy now brings education pathways and a wider focus and access for all people, not just women. Learning is empowering and creates mana and pathways to sustainable living that enable and foster real change.
